The very first attempt at making my own antenna........

  With the very helpful page at (N6PET) I was able to build my very own TAK-tenna spiral antenna style. Using the formula on his page ( Formula ) I was able to calculate everything and build it accordingly. Using materials suggested in the article as well as some of my own I was successful.

  I built the antenna using some parts I had as well as buying the others. I use a 20 foot painter pole and attached some guywire to it using conduit clamps. The complete setup is aprox 18 ft or so off the ground when extended ( not all the way due to stability )

  The complete project was fun and very informative and when complete was able to make some very cool contacts using my Go-Box in my truck with 50' of coax attached.
